ABOUT US
My family and I began preparing and handing out food throughout the cities of Fontana and Riverside every weekend. By 2013, we began to establish larger monthly events for the homeless community where we would provide food and hand out jackets, blankets, shoes, and hygienic products. Through our own funds and the generous donations of others, we were able to feed and clothe at least 150 homeless at each event.
In July 2015, Good Works Movement was officially established as a 501(C)3 non-profit organization. We feed the homeless community on a weekly basis and coordinate larger events 1-2 times a month where we hand out clothes, shoes, blankets, and other donations. We focus on providing basic essentials through these events and therefore rely on the generous contributions and assistance of our fellow citizens and local businesses. We have
no employees and 100% of donations goes toward food, clothing, and other essentials for the homeless.
We thank you for your interest in Good Works Movement and any donation is greatly appreciated by the organization and by the homeless community.
HOMELESS STATISTICS
California has the largest homeless population in the nation. As of 2022, 172,000 homeless individuals over the age of 18 are living on streets, in parks, in alleyways, in vehicles, and in other open public areas. Between 2014 and 2020, homelessness in California increased by 42%. California has the second highest rent in the nation, making homes unaffordable for individuals living under the poverty line or who have lost their jobs. Additionally, food prices have increased BY 9.9% IN 2022. All these factors have contributed to the rise in homelessness in California.
Mission Statement
Good Works Movement is a 501 (C)3 non-profit organization based in Riverside County. Our purpose is to serve the homeless in the community by providing meals, clothing, and basic essentials. We coordinate monthly events designated to assist those in the homeless community who do not have the means to assist themselves. Through generous donations, we are able to feed and properly care for those in need. Good Works Movement and the homeless community greatly benefit from the generous donations of kind citizens and local businesses.
Our goal for the future is to expand our organization and open a community center where the homeless can learn basic work skills. This center would help those who want help and volunteer the resources they need. The center would help place them in paying jobs, in rehab facilities to overcome addiction or alcoholism, shelters, or in residential facilities. This ambitious goal is incredibly costly and we are doing what we can with what we have. Good Works Movement aims to properly serve those in our community who need the help.
Together, we can provide the basic means of living for the less fortunate in our community. Together, we can feed homeless families in desperate need.
Together, we can make a difference!
